Saw a 50 year old sidewalk in Springfield that looked brand new

I was driving through Springfield last week and pulled over to look at a sidewalk section that had zero cracks and a perfect finish. The old guy who poured it must have known his stuff, because the joints were cut just right and the mix was spot on. What's the oldest pour you've seen that still looks that good?

Yeah, that kind of work just lasts. There's a curb in my old neighborhood from the late 60s that's still sharp enough to scrape a tire. They just don't make them like that anymore.

Ever wonder if the old stuff lasts because they used more material? Like @the_oscar's curb, maybe it's just a thicker pour of concrete that hasn't worn down yet. I read somewhere that specs back then allowed for a higher cement mix ratio before costs got cut.

My uncle's 1972 driveway in Toledo still looks perfect, honestly.
