Rant: My dad's JFK theories used to be fun, now conspiracy talks stress me out
I was at a family BBQ last week and my dad started going on about the moon landing again (like he always does). It made me remember when I was a kid and his stories felt like cool mysteries, not something to fight over. These days, every time I scroll online, it's all angry posts about stuff like 5G or election fraud with no real talk. Back then, we'd just chat and maybe look at a book, but now everyone has a hot take ready to blast. It feels like the fun of wondering what if is gone, replaced by people needing to win arguments. Does anyone else feel like conspiracy debates lost their playful edge?

People have always fought over this stuff, it just used to happen in bars or at kitchen tables away from the internet. The fun part isn't gone, you just have to avoid the angry corners online. Your dad probably still enjoys the mystery part the most. Maybe just talk to him about the weird details without letting it become a debate. The loud voices online are a choice, not the whole story.

ugh yeah, I mean everything feels like a debate now. Even just talking about movies or sports, people act like they're defending a thesis. Maybe it's just me but normal chats don't feel chill anymore.
