Vent: My local polling place had a line that moved way too fast last Tuesday.

I went to vote in the city primary, and the whole process took maybe 90 seconds from walking in to getting my sticker. There was no ID check, just a quick signature match against a printed list. Has anyone else seen voting happen with almost no real verification lately?

My buddy in the suburbs had the opposite problem. They asked for his ID, but the poll worker just glanced at the name and handed him a ballot without even looking at the photo. He said it felt more like checking into a cheap hotel than voting.

Yeah, I had that happen once and just asked them to actually check the photo (politely, you know). They did it after that.

That "checking into a cheap hotel" thing is EXACTLY what my friend said happened to her.
