I finally added hard deadlines to my contract's change order section
Without them, projects can drift aimlessly for months.

Honestly that approach can really backfire sometimes. Tbh I've seen hard deadlines create way more problems than they solve, like rushed work and bad quality. Clients start freaking out when dates get close and it just burns everyone out. Ngl a little flexibility in the process often gets you a better result in the end.

Ever read that study about how tight deadlines can actually lower work quality? Makes you wonder if some delays are worth it for a better final product.
