Noticed a shift in how I review termination clauses after a bad deal in Denver.

Back around 2018 I had a contract with a vendor that had a hidden 90 day notice to terminate. Messed me up when I needed out fast. Now I compare every new contract's termination terms with that old one, and it's night and day how much smoother things go. Anyone else got a past contract that changed how you read new ones?

Got burned by a 60 day termination clause in a lease once. Sneaky language buried in paragraph 14. Landlord used it to hold me hostage for two extra months when I found a cheaper space. Now I print out the termination section from every contract I sign. Highlight the dates in yellow. Flag anything over 30 days. Makes a huge difference.

Did your friend ever find out if that was even legal? I had a buddy who signed a lease with a hidden 45 day out clause and the landlord tried to screw him too.

Holy crap, 90 days hidden? That's savage.
