Switched from hourly to flat rate for bathroom cleanings and it actually works better
I used to think flat rate would screw me over if a job ran long. Then I tried it on a tiny bathroom in a studio apartment near downtown, finished in 45 minutes and made $80 instead of maybe $50. Has anyone else found one way pays better for certain rooms?
Yeah, "eyeball it" is pretty much what I was wondering too. People toss around numbers like that all the time and it's hard to know if they actually timed it or just guessed. If @rowanw91 really did track it, I'd be curious what they used to measure the start and stop points. Maybe they had a stopwatch going or checked a clock before and after. Either way, it makes a difference for anyone trying to match that pace.
