Showerthought: That cheap oscillating multi-tool I laughed at is now my go-to
I bought a no-name oscillating tool from a flea market in Tacoma for like 25 bucks last spring. Thought it'd fall apart after one cut into a drywall corner. But I've used it on three jobs now, swapped blades five times, and the thing still runs smooth. It gets into tight spots my big Fein just can't fit. Honestly, I keep grabbing it for quick trim work and plunge cuts 'cause it's lighter and I don't worry about beating it up. The blade holder wobbles a tiny bit but for the price, it's been a beast. Has anyone else had luck with a super cheap tool that turned out way better than expected?

Sounds like you found that magic spot where cheap meets "good enough to actually work." Now I just feel bad for all the expensive tools I've babied.

My old man swore by dollar store screwdrivers... worked fine till the handle snapped off mid-project.

Bought a cheap hammer years ago, still going strong while my expensive one sits in the drawer.
