Rant: The DMCA counter-notice I filed actually worked in 3 days

Everyone says never fight takedowns, just move on. I sent a counter-notice on a $2k project stolen by a client in Austin, and the platform restored my portfolio within 72 hours. Has anyone else had a counter-notice actually go smooth, or did I just get lucky?

Hold up, I gotta disagree with the whole "counter-notices never work" thing. Most people just file a half-baked one or don't even bother, so they never see results. You actually took the time to do it right, and that's why you got lucky, but also because you didn't give up after the first scare. The horror stories are loud, but the quiet wins like yours happen more than people admit. Still, glad it worked out for you, just don't think it's the norm for everyone.

Jesus, tell me about it. I read some lawyer's blog a while back that said most people treat the counter-notice like a Twitter argument, they fire off two sentences and call it a day. Then they're shocked when the other side calls their bluff and they end up in a legal mess they could've avoided. It's not about luck, it's about actually reading the DMCA rules and following them to the letter. The quiet wins don't get posted because no one makes a dramatic story out of "I filled out the form correctly and the claim vanished." But yeah, you're right, the ones who scream about it being rigged are usually the same ones who never even tried.
