Showerthought: I finally charged a late fee on an invoice from March and the guy paid it, so maybe we're all being too nice
I keep reading here that you should never charge a late fee because it scares people off, but a design client in Phoenix sat on a $1,800 invoice for 94 days and paid the extra $90 without a single word. Everyone told me I'd lose him, and he just hired me again last Tuesday for a logo refresh. So what's the real reason so many freelancers here say skip the fee, fear or something else?
