Appreciation post: that one client who told me my blowouts were too tight
About three years ago a woman in her 60s came into the salon where I worked in Austin and after I finished her blowout she said "honey you're pulling my hair like you're mad at it." I was really embarrassed at first but she showed me how she liked it gently brushed in sections and then dried with a much softer tension. I changed my whole technique that day and started paying attention to how much pressure I was using. Now my blowouts take a few more minutes but clients actually tell me their hair feels good instead of just looking good. Has anyone else had a client call them out on something that made you completely change your method?

Ma'am was just trying to save your scalp from a receding hairline.

Used Nizoral shampoo and stopped using gel. Worked way better than I expected.
