Question about fixing a stubborn toner glaze...

I spent like 45 minutes fighting a toner that just wouldn't stick to a client's porous ends last Wednesday. Has anyone else dealt with this with high-lift blonde and found a faster fix?

Toner is temporary anyway, it's gonna fade in a few washes no matter what you do. Tbh on porous ends you're better off just doing a demi-permanent color deposit or a bonder first instead of fighting it like that. I get wanting it perfect but sometimes you gotta ask if the client is even gonna notice the difference a week from now.

Funny you mention that - I've found sometimes the issue isn't the toner itself but the water quality. Hard water can mess with how toner grabs onto the hair, especially porous ends. A quick chelating treatment before toning might save you that next 45 minute headache.
