I just found out my local coworking spot was charging me for a service I never used

I've been paying $250 a month for a 'premium' desk at The Grid in Austin for almost a year, thinking it included conference room bookings. I only realized last Tuesday when I tried to book a room for a client call and got hit with a $40 fee. The manager said the premium tier only gives you a nicer chair, not room access. Has anyone else had a coworking space pull a fast one with their tier descriptions?

Honestly that "premium desk" thing is such a scam. Tbh if it's just a nicer chair they should call it the fancy chair tier, not premium. You should check your original sign up papers, because that feels like they hid the details on purpose. Ngl I'd be asking for at least some of that money back for the whole year. That's just them being sneaky with words.

Lol @kimr91 it's not that deep, you should've read the contract before paying for a whole year.

Yeah that premium desk wording is super vague. Had a gym try that with a "premium locker room" that was just a different paint color. Called and asked to see the exact contract language they used when I signed up. Once I pointed out how unclear it was, they gave me a partial refund for the months I had left. Sometimes just asking for the specific rule they think you broke can make them back down.
