Heard a young operator bragging about his GPS setup today
I was grabbing lunch near the site and this kid at the next table was going on about how his crane's GPS does everything for him, even plans the picks. Made me think back to when I started in 2008 up in Bakersfield and we had to eyeball everything with a tape measure and a hand signal from the oiler.

Man my tape measure still has dried mud on it from 2010 and I call that experience!

Haha that dried mud tells more stories than a clean tape measure ever could, mine's got concrete from 2008 still stuck on it.

Oh come on you guys are crazy! Old dried up mud and concrete stuck on your tools is just dirt and grime, not some badge of honor... @victorhernandez you've been holding onto that since 2010? That's just poor maintenance at this point. Clean tools work better, measure more accurately, and don't leave little chunks of debris all over your work site. I get that it shows you've been around the block but so does a clean tool that's been properly taken care of for years.
