Just realized my old 'first line' trick was holding my stories back. I used to spend hours trying to write a perfect opening sentence before anything else.

Tbh my version of that trick is just staring at a blank screen thinking really hard counts as progress. Ngl I've got a whole graveyard of documents with just a first line and a second line that starts with "Actually wait no." Honestly you gotta write five terrible opening sentences before the good one even knows you're trying.

Yeah anna_price69, it's such a trap because you get stuck trying to make that first line perfect and never actually write the song.
