An error on my credit report got my score up, and I can't decide if I should fix it

My buddy in Phoenix had a late payment vanish from his report for no reason. His score jumped almost forty points and he just rode with it. The whole thing is so random it's almost funny.

Saw my cousin's credit report list a closed account as open for years. It boosted her score so much she qualified for a prime card. She never said a word.
