My credit score hit 800 exactly after paying off a $15k car loan from Ford Credit

I was just checking my FICO on the Discover app and saw the number. It felt unreal because I had a few late payments back in 2020 that I thought would haunt me forever. Paying off that loan in full last month must have been the final push. Has anyone else seen a big jump after closing a major account?

Isn't it wild how that works? I'm really happy for you, @pat_harris, that must feel like a huge weight off. It's like you finally find the right key for a lock that's been stuck for years. Makes you wonder why the fix always seems so obvious looking back, right?
