Checked my password manager and saw I had 87 unique passwords

I was cleaning up my vault and the count really hit me. I thought maybe 30 or 40, but 87 means I've made a unique one for almost every site. It started after a small forum I used got hacked years back. Now I'm curious, what's a good number of passwords to have in your manager?

Honestly 87 is a totally normal number these days. The real trick is making sure your email and bank passwords are the strongest ones in the bunch. Everything else can be decent but you don't need to stress as much.

Honestly the number doesn't matter as much as what they protect. My bank login and some random pizza coupon site shouldn't have the same level of password. I have maybe 20 real ones for important stuff like email and money. The other 50 are just random garbage for sites I don't care about. If one of those gets hacked, it's not a big deal.

That number sounds about right. After my old email got popped in a data breach, I went on a password reset spree too. It's a pain, but having a unique one for everything is the only way to be safe now. The peace of mind is worth the hassle of managing the vault.
