My cousin in Phoenix called my password habits 'a hacker's dream' last month

He pointed out I was using the same base word with just numbers swapped for letters, like 'p@ssword2024'. He said a simple dictionary attack would crack it in minutes. I switched to using a password manager and making completely random 16-character strings for everything now. Anyone else get a wake-up call that made them overhaul their password system?

That "hacker's dream" line hits home. I used to think my passwords were fine because they had a capital letter. Getting a couple of accounts flagged for weird logins was my real push to use a manager. It feels so much easier now, honestly.

Managers can get hacked too though.

Same here, it's a total game changer.
