Rant: The coffee shop near my office has a huge security flaw with its guest Wi-Fi
I stopped at The Daily Grind on 5th Street yesterday and tried to use their free Wi-Fi. The network name was just 'CoffeeWiFi' with no password, which is normal, but the router's admin page was totally open! I typed 192.168.1.1 into my phone's browser on a whim and it loaded the login screen, and the default username and password were still set. Anyone on the network could have changed the settings or locked the owner out. I told the manager and he had no idea. Has anyone else run into public Wi-Fi that's this poorly set up?

Yeah, "asking for trouble" is right. My buddy tried something like that last year. He left his bike unlocked for five minutes outside the coffee shop. Gone. Just like that. Felt like a total public service for the thief, like fiona749 said. He had to walk home in the rain. Never got it back.
