Switched to a password manager after getting locked out of my own bank account

Lost access to my business checking for 3 days because I couldn't remember which variation of my password I used back in 2019, so now I'm using Bitwarden and kicking myself for not doing it sooner - has anyone else had a similar scare that finally pushed you to change your habits?

Did you used to think they were overkill too? Because same.

Honestly, do you really think password managers are safer though? I get the convenience part, but I've seen too many stories about breaches at these companies. It's all fun and games until someone's master password gets phished or the company itself has a security flaw. Tbh, I've got my passwords in a notebook locked in a drawer and I've never been locked out of anything important. Ngl, putting all your eggs in one digital basket feels like a bigger risk to me than just being more organized with a physical system.
