Tried a new brush pack for my fantasy art and it went sideways
Everyone says you need custom brushes for good texture. I got the 'Gritty Fantasy' set for Krita and my dragon scales just looked muddy. Learned that my old basic round brush works better for my style. Anyone else find fancy tools just get in the way?

Yeah, it's like that with everything. People push the fancy gear, the special apps, the perfect system, when half the time the simple thing you already know how to use is right there. I see it with kitchen gadgets collecting dust and expensive notebooks people are scared to write in. You just end up working for the tool instead of the tool working for you.
