Tried coworking in a hostel common area instead of a cafe

Was in Medellin last month, figured I'd save cash by working from the hostel's rooftop. Noise was worse than any cafe and my laptop almost got splashed during pool hour. Has anyone else found cheap spots that actually work for deep focus?

My favorite hostel in Buenos Aires had a "quiet work nook" that turned into a karaoke stage after 4pm. Nothing says deep focus like someone belting "Despacito" three feet from your spreadsheet. At least the coffee was cheap, though I suppose you get what you pay for when the "cafe" is just a free hot water dispenser.

Oh man, hostel rooftops are the ultimate gamble. I once set up my laptop next to a guy practicing juggling with flaming torches. Deep focus just wasn't in the cards that day.
