Tried to take a Zoom call from a rooftop cafe in Bali, ended up on video with a monkey stealing my lunch.
I was in Ubud last month, connecting to a client call from this trendy spot with fast WiFi. A macaque came out of nowhere, grabbed my nasi goreng right off the table, and sat on the railing eating it behind me for a solid 5 minutes. The client just stared at my screen asking if that was a wild monkey in the background. I ended up muting myself and letting the call run while I chased it off with a broom the staff lent me. Has anyone else had wildlife sabotage a workday like that?

Ngl that's wild but honestly the monkey made the meeting better. At least you had a story, the squirrel guy just got roasted.

Wait, did you actually get the broom and chase it while still on the call? I respect that level of dedication. Last year I was working from a rented cabin in the mountains and a squirrel got inside through a hole in the screen. It ran across my laptop keyboard during a team meeting and knocked my coffee all over the desk. Everyone saw me scream and throw a notebook at it while trying not to drop my laptop. The worst part is the damn squirrel came back three times that week and the landlord just laughed when I asked for a refund. I still get roasted about it in our group chat.
