Warning: I picked peel and stick tile over real ceramic for my basement bar and here's how it went
When I redid the little bar area in my basement in Council Bluffs, I was stuck between real ceramic tile and those peel and stick vinyl ones. The real stuff was going to run me about $180 in materials plus a wet saw rental and a whole weekend of grouting. I went with the peel and stick because the floor down there is not perfectly flat and I figured if I hated it I could pull it up easy. Putting it down took like two hours on a Saturday morning and I only messed up one piece near the corner where the bar meets the wall. Six months in, one tile by the mini fridge is starting to lift a tiny bit at the edge, probably from condensation or me dragging the fridge out to clean behind it. Other than that one spot it still looks good and nobody has guessed it is not real tile. My question is has anyone dealt with that lifting issue and did you just hit it with a hair dryer and press it back down or did you use some kind of glue?

Why are you surprised it is lifting when you skipped the prep work that real tile would have forced you to do? A floor that is not flat is exactly why ceramic needs backer board and leveling, and peel and stick just hides that problem until moisture and fridge dragging find it. You saved a weekend, but now you will spend the next year chasing loose edges one at a time.
