Warning: I thought spray foam was just a gimmick until I sealed my attic last winter.
My heating bill dropped by $40 a month after using two cans, which completely changed my view. Has anyone else had a big win with a product they didn't trust at first?

No kidding, I was the same way with that spray foam stuff. Totally wrote it off as overpriced junk until I tried it on some drafty windows. @abbyf79 gets it, sometimes the gimmicky product is actually the real deal. My big win was those LED light bulbs they pushed for years. Hated the weird light at first, but the energy savings are insane. Makes you wonder what else we're all wrong about.

Yeah, the "big win with a product you didn't trust" thing hits home. I bought one of those fancy kitchen knives off an infomercial as a joke, and now it's the only one I use.
