I used to sketch every plan on paper, but now I do it all on my tablet. The switch happened about a year ago after a project in Austin.

My buddy's an architect and he had the same thing happen. He was dead set against tablets, swore by his rolls of trace paper. Then he got caught in a downpour leaving a client meeting in Houston, not Austin, but same idea. His whole tube of drawings got soaked, blue ink running everywhere. He bought a tablet the next day. I get what @joseph_bailey is saying about it just being a tool, but sometimes the tool change gets forced on you by a real mess. The big leap isn't the drawing, it's not having your work ruined by a random rainstorm.

Switching from paper to a tablet is just a tool change, not some huge life event. People act like moving to digital is this big creative leap, but it's still just drawing lines. The project in Austin probably forced the switch, but it doesn't mean the old way was worse.
