That old timer at the lumber yard said to glue all my joints first then screw them together
I tried it on a deck frame last summer in Phoenix and ended up with everything shifting before i could get the screws in, had to pull it all apart and start over which cost me an extra $75 worth of lumber and half a day, has anyone else run into that issue with wet glue and framing?

Yeah I gotta push back on that "glue first then screw" advice for deck framing. Out here in Phoenix with 110 degree days that glue is setting up way too fast for a whole deck frame. I tried it on a small pergola last year and same thing happened, the joints started shifting before I could get the screws in and I ended up with a twisted mess. For framing I always screw it together dry first to get everything square, then if I want glue I pull a few screws and squirt it in. That way you're not fighting the clock and the lumber trying to walk around on you.

That $75 hit and wasted day would've been enough to change my mind too @shane_wilson, I used to swear by glueing first but after seeing this I'm gonna switch to your way.
