Found out how much paint colors have changed since my parents built their house

I was helping my dad clean out the garage and found a stack of old paint cans from when they first moved in back in 1988. One label said 'Harvest Gold' and I looked it up. Turns out, that color was in over 60% of new kitchens in the late 70s and early 80s. I found that stat on a site about design history. It's wild to think a color could be that popular everywhere. Now you see all these grays and blues. What's a color from an old house you actually kind of miss?

Disagree about avocado green, @mila_murphy. Those old colors feel dated because they were trendy, just like our grays will in 20 years.

That avocado green from old appliances was actually pretty great. It had a weird, earthy vibe that felt more intentional than today's safe neutrals. We traded bold personality for paint that just tries to disappear.
