My neighbor's 2x4 story made me rethink my whole shed build
I was framing out a small garden shed in my backyard in Columbus last weekend and my neighbor Bob came over to chat. He pointed at my pressure treated lumber and said he built his whole deck with the cheap stuff from a big box store three years ago and now half the boards are twisting like pretzels. I never really thought about grade or moisture content before, I just grabbed whatever was on the pallet. He told me to check each board for crown and cup before I nail it in, and to spring for the kiln dried stuff even if it costs more upfront. Has anyone else had good or bad luck with lumber from those big stores, or is there a better place to source it locally?

Bob's deck sounds like a him problem, most sheds die from bad footing not twisty boards.
