My title block took 5 hours to fix because of one hidden layer
Spent a whole afternoon chasing a title block that wouldn't scale right in AutoCAD until I found it was nested inside a locked layer from a 2019 template, so has anyone else gotten burned by leftover layers in old templates?
Had the same thing happen with a 2017 template where the border was sitting on a layer called "DEFPOINTS" that some drafters never touch. Easiest fix is to open the Layer Properties pallet and freeze everything except your title block layer, then look for any stray objects that show up. You can also run LAYWALK to flip through frozen layers one at a time and spot the hidden junk fast. Going forward, purge and audit every old template before you start, and save a clean one as your new go to.
