Shoutout to the old timer who told me to always check for a second neutral in a 1970s panel
I found a buried junction box with a live feed during a kitchen rewire in Sacramento because of that advice. Anyone else run into weird hidden stuff in those old split-bus setups?

My uncle's 1972 house in Fresno had a panel with three separate neutral bars tucked behind the main one. I almost missed one when I was helping him swap a breaker. That old timer advice is solid gold! Those split bus panels are full of surprises, and finding a live buried box is a real wake up call. Glad you caught it before things got spicy.

Come on, it can't be that bad. Those old panels are weird but usually fine if you know what you're doing. You just got spooked, @drews55.

Three separate neutral bars sounds like a trap.
