Stopped using generic follow-up templates and revenue jumped 40% in 10 days
I was sending the same old "just checking in" emails to prospects for months. Barely got any replies. Then I tried something different: I started each follow-up with a specific stat from their website or a recent post they shared. Something that showed I actually paid attention. The first time I did it with a local bakery owner in Austin I got a response in under 3 hours. Now I track every reply and my close rate went from 1 in 20 to about 1 in 8. Has anyone else tried personalizing past just using their name?

People are so used to getting ignored online that when you show real attention it cuts through everything. It's like how I'm way more likely to tip a barista who remembers my usual order.

Heard this EXACT thing from my buddy Dave who works at a coffee shop downtown. Told me about this one customer who came in twice a week for a year and never got more than a nod. Then one day Dave remembered she liked oat milk with an extra shot and she LITERALLY lit up like he handed her a hundred bucks. Started leaving a five dollar tip every single time after that. She even brought in homemade cookies once and wrote a note saying "for the only barista who gets it." It's wild how being a decent human and paying attention to small stuff can make such a huge difference. Nobody expects you to remember anything about them so when you do it stands out like crazy.

Wait, are you saying I wasted a year sending those "just checking in" emails? That hurts.
