Vent: I just read a blog post that said 'never follow up more than twice' and I think that's terrible advice for our line of work.
I lost a $425k listing last year because I stuck to that rule and stopped after two emails, while another agent kept gently checking in and got the deal after the seller's initial choice fell through.

That rule treats all clients the same. Some people need space after a big decision. Others get distracted by life and forget to reply. Saw a seller pick an agent who called every month just to say hello, no pressure. The seller said it showed real care when their first sale fell apart. Blanket rules ignore how people actually work.

So we're just ignoring that people are different now? Guess we all love robot scripts.

Exactly. My last realtor would text me random listings every single day. It felt like spam, not help. But when I had a question about an inspection report, it took her two days to get back. The check in calls without an agenda are what build actual trust. You remember who was there when things got quiet.
