Hit $10k in a single month for the first time, but it took 4 no-shows to get there

Finally crossed that milestone after 3 years of freelancing, but the wild part is two of those invoices took 6 weeks to clear and one client ghosted me for a month before sending a partial payment, has anyone else hit a big number only to realize half of it is still pending?

Ever tried putting a "due on receipt" clause in bold at the bottom of your contracts? I had the same problem last year, hit my best quarter ever but three clients paid late enough that I almost missed rent. What finally worked was charging a 5% late fee after 14 days, and honestly just sending a friendly reminder on day 10. The partial payment guy eventually paid the rest after I offered a small discount for clearing it all at once. It's annoying that you have to babysit grown adults, but now I check payment history before taking new work.
