I gave up on net 30 after a plumber in Dallas taught me a trick with a stapler
I always figured asking for money upfront made me look small time, so I let jobs run 30 days and chased checks for weeks. Then a plumber in Dallas showed me his invoice and he staples a signed scope page to every single one, so nobody can say they didn't know what they were buying. He told me he hasn't chased a late check in 4 years, and I switched over in March. Does anyone else attach signed paperwork, or do you just eat the risk?
Signed scope on every invoice is the move, it kills the "I didn't know" excuse before it starts. I also snap a photo of it before it goes out, so there's a copy on my phone if a client ever gets foggy on what they agreed to.
