Booked 11 Brazilian waxes in one day at the Eugene shop and I finally figured out why my hands cramped
Last Thursday I did 11 Brazilians back to back at our shop in Eugene and around number 7 my right thumb just locked up mid strip. Turns out I was gripping the stick like a pencil instead of resting it along my finger, so I forced myself to switch technique for the last 4 and the cramping stopped almost right away. Also started keeping my wax at 1 degree lower than normal since the summer humidity here makes it tacky fast. Any of you changed your grip and actually stuck with it, or did you go back to old habits after a week?
Eleven in one day is a lot, and having your thumb lock up at number 7 sounds rough. The grip change makes sense since holding the stick like a pencil puts all the strain in one spot, and resting it along the finger spreads the work out. Sticking with a new grip is hard after years of habit, but your hands will thank you for it once the cramping stops.
