Heard a lead esthetician in Portland say she never sells a package on the first visit, and it kind of messed with my head
I was at a skincare trade show in Seattle two weeks ago and sat in on a talk about client retention. The speaker said she stopped offering packages on day one about 3 years ago because clients felt pushed, and her rebooking rate went from 40 percent to 68 percent. She said she just books the next single appointment before they leave the room and lets them ask about packages themselves. That number has been stuck in my head all week because I do pitch packages right after a facial when they're relaxed and probably just being nice. My rebooking rate sits around 45 percent right now and I keep blaming the economy. For those of you who wait on packages, does it actually feel less pushy to clients, or do you lose sales you would have made?
