Vent: hot towels for extractions, not steam, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise
I ran a test on my own face for 4 weeks, steam on the left side, hot towel compress on the right, and the towel side gave up way more congestion with less redness after. Steam feels nice but it just sits on the surface, while a wet towel at about 120 degrees actually softens the oil for a good 2 to 3 minutes so the extraction slides out instead of me digging. I switched my whole room over in January and my 45 minute facials got easier, plus clients stopped flinching when I go in for the nose. The steamers are still in the closet and I doubt I'll pull them out again. Anyone else made the switch, or am I the only one who thinks steamers are mostly for show?
