Dropped a hoof knife in a horse's water bucket last Tuesday in Lexington

I was trimming a standardbred mare around 3pm and my favorite hoof knife slipped right out of my hand and landed in her water bucket. Didn't realize till I went to reach for it again and saw it sitting at the bottom. Had to drain the bucket, fish it out, and clean everything. Anyone else ever drop tools in weird spots on a job?

Yeah @troyc17 moving the bucket halfway across the shop fixed it for me.

Not count that particular one but I dropped a rasp into a bucket of hoof dressing once. Had to stick my whole arm in there up to the elbow. Felt like I was reaching into a cow's stomach honestly. Two days later I did it again with the same bucket. That's when I just moved the bucket to the other side of the barn.

You ever have one of those moments where you just stare at the bucket and think, "I know better, but here we go again?" Because I've done the same thing with a bucket of hoof oil more times than I care to admit. That feeling of your arm sliding in, cold and sticky, and then you fish around blind for the tool. Two days later, you do it again, and you're just mad at yourself for not moving the bucket the first time. I feel your pain on this one, man. Sometimes a little distance is all it takes to save yourself from another gross arm bath.
