Shoe pulled off in the mud at a farm call near Guthrie, did I mess up by not clinching tighter or was the ground just that bad?

Man, clinching tighter wouldn't have saved that shoe, because mud that deep will suck off a boot no matter how good your clinch job is. Clinching keeps a shoe on during normal work, but against that kind of suction it's basically useless. Sounds like the ground was just that bad and not your fault.
