I tried making a dress from old bedsheets and the fabric did something weird
So two weeks ago I grabbed 3 cotton bedsheets from Goodwill for $6 total and tried to sew a simple wrap dress. I pre washed them like you're supposed to, laid out my pattern, cut everything, and started pinning. The second I started to sew, the fabric stretched out like crazy, way worse than any quilting cotton I've used before, and the side seams ended up wavy and a full inch off by the time I finished. I even tried a walking foot and it still happened. Anyone know what's up with bedsheet fabric, is it the weave or the finish they put on it, and is there a way to make it behave?

A whole inch off by the end is insane, I would have given up right there.
