My tote bag pattern finally clicked after 7 ugly tries
I spent all Tuesday in my studio messing with the same tote bag design, and the seventh version just worked. The trick was moving the strap anchors 2 inches lower on the sides, it fixed the awkward bunching I kept getting. I used a stiff cotton canvas from a shop in Portland and added a boxed bottom this time. Has anyone else found that tiny pattern tweaks like that completely change how a bag hangs?

Oh man, that strap anchor trick is gold. I had the same issue with a market bag and moving the anchors just an inch and a half made the whole thing hang right instead of sagging weird in the front.
