Almost had a post snap back on me yesterday in Boulder
Ngl, I was setting a 6-foot cedar panel and the wind caught it just right. I had to drop everything and brace it with a spare 2x4 before it cracked. Anyone else have a close call with sudden gusts?
Saw a thing last year about wind catching those posts just right. Can whip them around like a slingshot. Friend of a friend took one to the shin, nasty break. Maybe not a disaster, but definitely not nothing.
Had a sign blow over in a storm last year. We ended up using those screw-in ground anchors you can get at any hardware store. Drilled them in at an angle away from the sign, attached with heavy duty cable. Thing hasn't budged since.
