The basement storage room has been untouched since last year. What made you suggest checking it out now?

Honestly I just don't buy the whole "forgotten treasure" idea for most people. The_xena's story is cool but that's a one in a million find. My basement storage is just old tax papers and broken holiday decorations. Checking it now seems like a waste of a Saturday unless you actually need something specific from down there. Most of us just store junk we're too lazy to throw out.

Seriously, my friend Jake had the same situation with his garage. He finally cleared out some old boxes last month and found his dad's vintage baseball cards just sitting there. They were worth way more than he thought and he almost donated them. It just made me realize we forget what we store sometimes. You might have something good hiding in plain sight down there.
