Spent $80 on a fancy pH meter and it's been a total waste

Bought a Milwaukee MW102 for my kimchi batches, thinking precise readings would fix my texture issues. The thing drifts constantly and needs recalibration every time I pull it out of the drawer. I get more reliable results just tasting the brine for sourness. Anyone have a cheap tool that actually works for this?

Yeah I was all about the gear for a while too. After my third meter went bad I just went back to the old taste test, works every time.

My buddy Mark bought a $200 meter for his homebrew setup last year. He spent more time fiddling with calibration strips than actually brewing. Now he just uses the old hydrometer and his taste buds work fine.

Sounds about right... my gear drawer is basically a tech graveyard.
