Just landed my first gig at $75 an hour and I'm still processing it

I picked up a one-off project last week from a small law firm in Austin rewriting some of their client intake forms. They agreed to my quote of $75 an hour without even blinking, which totally threw me since I was ready to negotiate down to $50. Is this just beginner's luck or do other people get that deer in headlights feeling when their first price sticks on the first try?

Take it and run. Most people lowball themselves early on and you just found out what your work is actually worth.

Ngl I'm not totally convinced it's that cut and dried. Sure it's a nice number but you gotta think about the whole picture - is this job in line with what you actually wanna do long term or just a quick cash grab? Honestly a lot of people chase a salary bump and end up miserable six months later. Plus the market's weird right now where some companies are overpaying to lock people in then cutting roles right after. Tbh I'd sleep on it for a few days and see if the initial excitement fades before making any big moves.

Fair point but gotta say, a quick cash grab beats no cash at all right now...
