My inspection revealed 3k in plumbing issues the seller 'fixed' 2 months ago

The before pics from their listing showed shiny new pipes under the sink in that 1980s bungalow, but the after was a mess of tape and leaks. Turns out they just painted over corrosion on the main line to the street. Anyone else find out their seller's 'repairs' were just cosmetic cover-ups?

We closed on a house last year where the seller "replaced" the water heater but just wiped down the outside and put a new serial sticker on a unit from 2005, blew a gasket day two.

Did you check the serial numbers before closing or only find out after?
