PSA: My credit score jumped 60 points in 3 weeks after I stopped doing this one thing
When I started house hunting in Boise last fall, my lender said my score was 680, but I had no idea why it was stuck there. I stopped using my debit card for everything and put all my daily buys on one credit card, paying it off every Friday, and my score hit 740 by the time we made an offer 3 weeks later because my credit use ratio dropped from 80% to 10%. Did anyone else see a huge score bump just from changing how they paid for gas and groceries?
Watched my buddy do almost the exact same thing last year, he was putting everything on his debit card and his ratio was sitting around 75%. Switched all his gas and food to one card and paid it weekly, and his score shot up like 50 points in a month.
