Update: My realtor told me my offer letter was 'too much' and it cost me a house
We put in an offer on a 3 bed, 2 bath in Columbus last month and I wrote this super personal letter to the sellers, like 3 pages about our dog and how we'd love the yard. Our realtor said after we lost the bid that the listing agent called it 'overwhelming' and the sellers felt pressured. Now I keep it to one short paragraph max, just saying we're excited about the home. Has anyone else gotten weird feedback on their offer letters?

Ugh, same thing happened to my cousin! Her long letter about family game nights just annoyed the sellers.

My friend wrote this whole letter about how she wanted to raise her family in a house and it totally backfired. The sellers told her agent it felt like emotional blackmail, which is so harsh. It makes sense though, like you don't want to guilt someone into a huge decision. She was crushed at the time, but now we all just keep it super simple and boring.

Yeah, the "super simple and boring" plan is smart. Makes me wonder if some sellers just hate the whole letter trend now, like @the_mary's friend found out the hard way.
