Saw a guy in Phoenix use a laser level for a whole tile floor and it blew my mind
I was helping a friend on a big job out there last month, and the lead guy had this little laser level he set up in the middle of the room. He used it to snap chalk lines for every single row of tile instead of just the first one. It took maybe 5 extra minutes to set up, but we saved at least an hour and a half on the whole 400 square foot floor because we never had to check for square again. The lines were perfect the whole way across. I bought one the next week and it's changed how I start any tile job now. Has anyone else switched to using a laser for layout instead of just a chalk line and a square?

That setup time is the only thing I'd push back on a little. For a 400 square foot floor, getting a laser level perfectly square to the room and then marking all those lines would take me more than five minutes. Maybe fifteen to twenty to do it right. But you're totally correct that it saves way more time than it costs. The real win is not having that tiny error from your first chalk line multiply across the whole room.

Fifteen minutes to set up a laser? You must have the patience of a saint. I'd be losing my mind after five.
